Fiamor, a Volta based rapper made certain revelations over the weekend concerning the current relationship with his former record label and management company PUB RECORDS.
The award winning hiplife/hiphop artist disclosed to Bright Ellis, host of ENT105 on Global 105.1fm that the breakup was as a result of unmet expectations from both parties, though the contract could be renewed as Fiamor wished but left unfixed.
Fiamor was quoted during the interview saying; “They (PUB RECORDS) would want me to sing like KD BAKES.”
Like KD BAKES?
Well, that could have diverse meanings, but how could a whole record label which is responsible for the creativity & brand effectiveness of the artiste it manages and promotes suggest a thing like this?
Could it be because KD BAKES is on top of his game and knows how to do it best? Perhaps yes!
Then why is he not an A list artiste already?
W, that could be certain after his much awaited debut EP “THE RISE EP” is released on 15 MAY 2020. This much awaited EP from the Carry Me Away hit maker and Best Male Vocalist at the 1st edition of Volta Music Awards in 2018 is expected to be a great one.
In a short interview over the phone with Kd Bakes to get his views on the issue, he said “Im glad Fiamor did not change from his original self and style to sing like me. If he will be accepted it should be on the grounds of his original style and not a copy of another artist. Thats a very wise decision he made.”
KD BAKES hinted that he and his team are ready for this EP release and everyone should expect good songs to always cherish from this EP.
